Pattie Matthie

Branch Manager

Patti Matthie’s role as Branch Manager entails the supervision of office operations at San Diego headquarters, directing support staffing including specialized legal talent searches, as well as networking and marketing opportunities for the company. Patti’s 11 years of experience in the legal staffing sector is accompanied by a background in entrepreneurship and event management.

Prior to her career in legal staffing, Patti owned the special events planning company Elegant Events and Floral. As owner, she managed a team of 20 and was responsible for all corporate sales in major hotels such as the Marriott and Hyatt. Before opening her business, Patti was catering manager to La Costa Resort and Spa, where she managed all major accounts including American Express, General Motors and Sweet’N Low.

Patti is a member of the San Diego Legal Secretaries Association and IP Professionals Connection, as well as the San Diego Administrative contact for ACC.

Abigail Parente

Senior Legal Recruiter

With eight years tenure at Exclusively Legal, Abigail Parente is a Senior Legal Recruiter for the staffing agency. Abigail’s primary responsibilities are managing key accounts and recruiting for contract and direct hire legal jobs for law firms and corporate legal departments. Additionally, she assists with screening and placing teams of contract attorneys on a local and national basis.

Previously, Abigail was a recruiter for the University of San Diego’s Paralegal Program. There she increased admissions by 100% in one year. Abigail’s background also includes attorney recruiting at Qualcomm San Diego, and working as a litigation calendar clerk with the international law firm Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP.

Abigail frequently speaks at local San Diego colleges and universities on topics regarding the job market, and is often a guest speaker for various legal associations. Starting in December 2011, she will teach for the UCSD Paralegal Program on the subject of “Practice and Procedures”. She is active with local groups such as the San Diego Paralegal Association and San Diego Lawyer’s Club.

Abigail earned a Master’s of Art degree in leadership studies and a paralegal certificate from the University of San Diego as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Scranton.
